Here the 15th Century church has, in its porch, the remains of the great wooden image of St. Derfel’s horse, a much visited effigy with a very interesting story. In Cromwell’s days thousands visited and made valuable offerings in exchange for promised rescue from eternal damnation, if such was their fate. Inside there is a 15th Century carved screen and a rood-loft over it.

In the pretty village, below and on the same side as the Post Office on the main street, are a couple of narrow lanes. Down these is a quiet square with a stream. Find a seat and an ice cream from the shop and enjoy the peace or take the children to the play area on the edge of the village.
